Veneer consultations and treatment, in composite or porcelain.
Magical Smiles Point Cook plans porcelain and composite veneers at 220 Point Cook Road for teeth that are chipped, uneven, gappy or a different shade from their neighbours. A veneer is a thin facing bonded to the front of a tooth. Whether it's the right fix for your teeth, or whether something simpler would do, is what your first appointment is for.
No obligation · to book treatment after your first consult
Maybe it chipped on a glass years ago and never got fixed. Maybe it sits a little forward of the others, or has drifted a shade darker than its neighbours. Most people barely register it, but you notice it every time, and that habit is hard to switch off.
A veneer is a very thin facing of porcelain or tooth-coloured composite bonded to the front of a tooth to change how it looks in your smile. Each one is made or shaped for your tooth alone. At our Point Cook clinic, the first job is working out whether a veneer is genuinely what your tooth needs.

When did you last smile in a photo and not check it afterwards?
The tooth is only part of it. What changes is the small stuff you stop doing: tilting your head in group shots, lifting a hand to your mouth when you laugh, pausing before a full smile.
Nobody can promise an identical result for every patient, and it's worth being wary of anyone who does. What we can do is tell you honestly what your teeth allow, then set out the steps and the costs so the decision stays with you.
"Veneer" covers a few quite different treatments. Here's a plain-English version of each, so the conversation starts on solid ground.
Tooth-coloured resin is shaped directly onto the tooth and polished by hand, usually in one visit. Little or none of the tooth is removed, and it can be adjusted, repaired or replaced later without a lab.
Often suits: small chips, minor gaps or uneven edges, or anyone after a low-commitment start.Crafted in a dental lab from a scan or impression of your teeth, then bonded on, usually across two visits. Porcelain holds its polish and resists staining better than resin, and your dentist will compare both for your teeth.
Often suits: several teeth changing together, or a finish designed to last.A particularly fine porcelain facing that keeps more of the natural tooth. Not every tooth shape or bite can carry one, and only an examination tells you whether yours can.
Often suits: healthy, fairly even teeth where a subtle change is the goal.Sometimes one tooth is the whole story. A single veneer, occasionally with whitening on the teeth around it first, can bring that tooth back into line with the rest.
Often suits: one chipped, stained or misshapen tooth among otherwise even neighbours. These describe the options; they aren't a diagnosis. What suits you depends on your teeth, your bite and what you'd like to change, and that's worked out at the consultation.

Neither material is "better" across the board. They solve different problems. Use this as a rough guide; the examination confirms the fit.
Plenty of people arrive sure which one they want. Just as often, looking at the actual teeth changes the answer, and sometimes the plan uses both. That's exactly what the first visit is for.
An estimate only, not a quote or credit approval. Your dentist confirms the actual cost once your teeth have been examined.

Appointments are paced so the conversation never feels rushed.
You don't need to know which veneer you want, or even whether you want one at all. Coming in curious is enough.
Show us what bothers you and tell us what you'd like to look different. After a thorough examination, the honest answer might be veneers, or it might be something simpler.
If veneers suit you, you'll hear which type, how many teeth are involved and how many visits it takes, along with payment routes such as Humm, Afterpay and Zip.
Nothing is decided on the spot. Meet the dentist who would do the work, then book when it suits you, whether that's this month or next year.
Numbers first. The decision is yours.
For many people the hesitation isn't about wanting veneers. It's about paying for them without upsetting everything else. That's why your first consult comes with no obligation, and why treatment can be split into regular instalments rather than one payment. We also accept most health funds, with HICAPS claims processed on the spot.
Planning a larger treatment? SuperCare may be worth a look.
Where dental treatment is clinically necessary, the ATO can approve early release of super on compassionate grounds. SuperCare helps with the paperwork, but your fund assesses the application and approval isn't assured. Releasing super early permanently reduces your retirement balance, so independent financial advice is worth getting first. Read about payment options

Veneers raise plenty of sensible questions, and these Magical Smiles articles cover the common ones. Start with what happens during the veneer procedure, then read what shapes the cost of veneers.
Thinking about straightening as well? Invisalign or veneers compares the two. It also pays to know the downsides of veneers up front, and porcelain veneers or Lumineers explains how those two materials differ.
For the longer term, read whether a tooth can decay under a veneer and how to care for veneers day to day.
Closer to home, our porcelain veneers page walks through the two-visit lab process, and composite bondingcovers smaller repairs that are usually finished in one appointment. Your dentist confirms your own cost in writing before any treatment. We're open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, if you'd like to talk it through.
