Magical Smiles Point Cook
Family and children's dentistry
Magical Smiles Point Cook is a family dental clinic at 220 Point Cook Road that looks after children from their first check-up through to their late teens, Monday to Saturday. A first visit is a gentle introduction, not a treatment day. Regular check-ups and cleans follow, and eligible children can be bulk-billed under Medicare's Child Dental Benefits Schedule. Nervous child? Tell us and we'll slow everything down.

Seeing the same friendly faces every six months is what makes the dental chair feel ordinary.
Children who see the dentist regularly from a young age tend to treat it as an ordinary part of the year, and that familiarity is worth more than any single clean. It's the thinking behind how our Point Cook team runs every children's appointment: short, calm and explained in words your child understands.
Between about age three and the late teens, baby teeth give way to adult teeth, the jaw widens and the bite settles. A check-up every six months lets us follow those changes, spot early decay while a small filling or better brushing will do, and pick up habits such as thumb-sucking or mouth breathing before they affect how the adult teeth come through.
We spend time with you, too. Most tooth decay in children can be prevented, so each visit ends with practical advice on brushing, fluoride toothpaste, drinks and snacks that fits your family's routine.
Where a tongue or lip tie may be restricting movement, we assess it first and explain the options on our lip and tongue tie page. Mouth breathing and crowded teeth are covered on the Myobrace page.
Each page walks through what happens and what to expect, so you can choose the right starting point for your child.
A 30 to 45 minute introduction with no treatment planned. Your child meets the dentist, tries the chair and decides how much happens; anything they aren't ready for waits until next time.
02Every six months we check teeth, gums and bite, give a gentle clean and polish, and talk you through anything worth watching at home.
03Eligible children aged 0 to 17 can have basic dental care bulk-billed under Medicare's Child Dental Benefits Schedule: up to $1,158 over two calendar years, or $1,132 if their period began in 2025. Ask us to check eligibility and balance when you book.
04How soft, removable appliances and daily exercises aim to help children who mouth-breathe, snore or have crowded adult teeth. Ask our team whether it's available and suitable.

Small comforts help. Bring a favourite toy from home if it makes the visit easier.
“Tell us if your child is anxious, needs a little extra care, or you'd like their first visit to feel special. We'll plan around it.”
Some children are wary of anything new, and some have had a hard visit somewhere else. Let us know when you book, when you arrive or at any point in between. We can allow more time, choose a quieter part of the day, change the order of things and stop whenever your child needs a break.
If all your child manages on the first day is climbing into the chair, that counts as a good visit. Confidence builds one appointment at a time, and we're happy to go at that pace.
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is a Medicare program that pays for basic dental care for eligible children. Your child qualifies when they are aged 0–17 for at least one day of the calendar year, eligible for Medicare, and part of a family that receives a qualifying government payment, such as Family Tax Benefit Part A, at some point in the year.
Eligible children can claim up to $1,158 over two calendar years (or $1,132 if their two-year period began in 2025) for check-ups, cleans, X-rays, fillings, extractions and other basic care. At Magical Smiles Point Cook we bulk-bill covered services, so there's no out-of-pocket cost for them, subject to Medicare eligibility and program terms. Tell us at booking and we'll check your child's eligibility and remaining balance. How CDBS bulk-billing works →
Services Australia decides CDBS eligibility, not the clinic. The scheme covers basic and preventive care; it doesn't cover orthodontics (braces, Invisalign), cosmetic treatment or care in hospital.
Our Point Cook clinic is open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, so Saturday appointments can work around school. Magical Smiles Point Cook is led by principal dentist Dr Rachna Yadav, with Dr Amolak Deep, and you can book the whole family at one clinic. If a sister Magical Smiles clinic is closer to home, you'll find it under Our locations.
