Our commitment
Magical Smiles Point Cook wants this website to work for as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation or screen magnification.
The site is built and checked against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. That is a target, not a claim that every page fully conforms. The gaps we know about are listed below.
Navigation is kept simple, and the sitemap lists every page in one place if you prefer a plain index.
What is actually tested
Automated accessibility tests run as part of the website build:
- Pages are scanned with the axe-core accessibility engine at three screen widths: mobile (390px), tablet (768px) and desktop (1440px).
- A page fails the check if it has any “serious” or “critical” violation on the enabled rules.
- The checks cover roles, labels, focus behaviour and keyboard interaction.
Automated tests find many problems, but not all of them. They do not prove full WCAG conformance and do not replace testing with real assistive technologies. Manual testing continues as the site improves.
Known accessibility issues
These limitations are known:
- Colour contrast. Some colours in the site's palette fall below WCAG AA contrast ratios. The “honey” accent on the cream background measures about 2.49:1, and the muted body-text colour about 4.10:1. For this reason the automated colour-contrast rule is currently turned off, and contrast remains an open improvement item.
- Third-party embeds. The online booking and enquiry forms, maps and some other features come from third parties and are not fully within the practice's control. Their accessibility may vary.
- Mostly automated coverage. Release testing is automated, so some barriers that affect real people may not yet be found.
This statement does not claim full WCAG 2.2 AA conformance. It describes the target and the gaps known today.
